Erskine and Barton clash for second time Saturday night

Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Women's Basketball Team hosts the Bulldogs of Barton College Saturday night at Belk Arena starting at 5:30 p.m.

Both teams enter the contest in a four-way tie for third place in conference standings, two games behind conference-leading Limestone College and a game behind Belmont Abbey.

The Flying Fleet (10-6, 5-3) look to rebound from their midweek road loss to Limestone that snapped a four-game win streak.  Barton (11-5, 5-3), meanwhile, just crushed conference foe Pfeiffer University 95 to 80 in their midweek contest after suffering back-to-back losses to Lees-McRae and Limestone.

This is the second time for these two teams to meet this season with the Fleet winning game one 92 to 88 back on December 7th.  That win propelled the Flying Fleet to their first four-game winning streak of the season.  In that game, the Fleet had six players reach double-figures, led by Kristin Giles' 17 points and 5 rebounds.

The Bulldogs are led in scoring by senior guard Nyeshea Willie, who averages 23.5 points while handing out a team-leading 3.8 assists per game.  Willie currently leads the conference in scoring and ranks 7th nationally.  Junior forward Brianna Thomas leads the Bulldogs on the boards averaging better than 8 rebounds while also contributing over 10 points per game.
