Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Women's Basketball Team hosts the Bulldogs of Barton College Saturday night at Belk Arena starting at 5:30 p.m.
Both teams enter the contest in a four-way tie for third place in conference standings, two games behind conference-leading Limestone College and a game behind Belmont Abbey.
The Flying Fleet (10-6, 5-3) look to rebound from their midweek road loss to Limestone that snapped a four-game win streak. Barton (11-5, 5-3), meanwhile, just crushed conference foe Pfeiffer University 95 to 80 in their midweek contest after suffering back-to-back losses to Lees-McRae and Limestone.
This is the second time for these two teams to meet this season with the Fleet winning game one 92 to 88 back on December 7
th. That win propelled the Flying Fleet to their first four-game winning streak of the season. In that game, the Fleet had six players reach double-figures, led by Kristin Giles' 17 points and 5 rebounds.
The Bulldogs are led in scoring by senior guard Nyeshea Willie, who averages 23.5 points while handing out a team-leading 3.8 assists per game. Willie currently leads the conference in scoring and ranks 7
th nationally. Junior forward Brianna Thomas leads the Bulldogs on the boards averaging better than 8 rebounds while also contributing over 10 points per game.
