Michelau's double-double leads Erskine to first win

Box Score Wilson, N.C. – Sophomore Mike Michelau (Trevor, WI, Westosha Central High School) recorded his first double-double of the season in leading the Erskine Flying Fleet to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-17) victory over the Bulldogs of Barton College tonight in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action at Wilson Gymnasium. 

For the Flying Fleet, it is their first win of the 2014 season while the Bulldogs drop to 1-3.

Michelau knocked down a game-high 12 kills along with 10 digs and 4 blocks to lead the Fleet.  Sophomore Mike Kawa (Debica, Poland, Elk Grove High School) contributed 9 kills while freshman Roberto Perez Vargas (Dorado, P.R., Bayamon Military Academy) had 7 kills.

The Bulldogs were led by Zach McCalla's 9 kills.

Erskine dominated the net, recording a season-high 10.5 blocks while holding Barton to a negative hitting percentage in two of the three sets and an overall hitting percentage (-0.75) for the match.

Erskine plays preseason favorite and defending conference champion the University of Mount Olive tomorrow afternoon.  Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
