Box Score Due West, S.C. – Erskine lost to Mount Olive College 13 to 11 in Conference Carolinas women’s lacrosse action at Huggins Field.
Trailing 9 to 5 at intermission, Erskine scored the second half’s first three goals to pull back to win one. Senior Von McKenzie got the Fleet run started, finding the back of the net on a pass from teammate Hillary Henry. Kelly Dalziel added another goal a short time later after drawing a free position attempt while freshman Megan McKinley scored her first collegiate goal on a pass from Samantha Burns.
The Trojans extended their lead back out to three goals then held on as Erskine again got back within a goal. Dalziel scored her third goal of the game with 2:33 remaining to make the score 12 to 11. With Erskine extending their defense to force a turnover, Limestone was able to add an insurance goal to win 13 to 11.
Dalziel and McKenzie each scored three goals while Samantha Burns scored two goals and two assists.
Erskine drops to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in conference while Mt. Olive improves to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Erskine hosts Chowan University on Friday starting at noon.
