Box Score Fairfield, Conn. – After edging Sacred Heart University in the first two sets, Erskine (13-13) dropped the next three sets, including the next two 24 to 26, to lose 3-2 (25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 24-26, 10-15) to the Pioneers (3-15) in non-conference men’s volleyball action at Pitt Center.

Freshman Mike Kawa (Debica, Poland, Elk Grove High School) led the Fleet with 20 kills, 8 digs and 6 blocks.  Fellow freshman Mike Michelau (Bristol, WI, Westosha Central High School) recorded his fourth “double-double” of the season with 15 kills, 10 digs and 2 blocks.  Setter Corey Marks (Southwest Ranches, FL, Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School) earned 43 assists along with 9 digs and 5 blocks.  Freshman Michael Schneck (Milwaukee, WI, Marquette University High School) had a game-high 13 digs on the back row.

The Pioneers were led by Brad Borsay’s 20 kills and a team-high 9 digs.  Jose Juelle knocked down 14 kills while Travis Von Holt had an impressive 10 kills on 16 attempts.

The loss snaps a three-game win streak for the Fleet.

Erskine travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Saturday to play Harvard University.
