Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Men’s Tennis Team opened their season with a 9-0 loss to non-conference foe Francis Marion University at the Erskine Tennis Complex.

The Patriots of Francis Marion University (2-0) grabbed a quick lead winning the three doubles matches.  Sophomore Wilson Mathewes and freshman Dean Harris played well in their #2 doubles match but lost 8-6.

FMU proceed to win the six singles matches in straight sets to win the match 9-0.

The Fleet (0-1)  face another tough opponent out of the Peach Belt Conference this Saturday when the Saints of North Georgia College visit Due West.  Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.
