Box Score Due West, S.C. – Erskine struggled offensively tonight losing to Barton College 73 to 44 in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball action at Belk Arena.
The Fleet’s first points of the game did not come until the 13
th minute of play when sophomore
Raven Jordan (Wilmington, NC, Wilmington Christian Academy) connected on two free throws. Junior
Lindsey Weidenaar (Evans, GA, Lakeside High School) made a 3-point basket with nine minutes remaining for the Fleet’s first field goal. By that time, Barton had built a double-digit lead and led 40 to 16 at intermission.
Erskine played much better in the second half but could not overcome the first half shooting woes.
Tori Whittenberg (Mauldin, SC, Mauldin High School) led the Fleet with 11 points while
Tara Potter (Sherrills Ford, NC, Bandys High School) contributed 10 points.
Jana Dixon (Conyers, GA, Heritage High School) led the Fleet on the boards with a game-high 9 rebounds.
Nyeshea Willie led all-scorers with 16 points and 5 assists. Shante Neal scored 10 points.
Erskine plays their third game of a four game home stand on Tuesday against conference-leading Limestone College. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
