Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (1-1) routed the Bruins of Bob Jones University (4-2) 88 to 48 this afternoon in non-conference women's basketball action at Belk Arena.
Erskine scored the first five points of the game and never trailed. By the ten minute mark, Erskine led by 31 points behind a defensive effort that limited BJU to just 3 points. At intermission, Erskine led 56 to 27.
Erskine forced BJU into 40 turnovers in the game and had 18 steals.
Erskine had 16 players score in the contest and was led by Rosa Powell's game-high 16 points.
Ashley Mull (Belmont, NC, South Point High School) was the only other Fleet player to reach double-digits with 13 points. Senior
Jana Dixon (Conyers, GA, Heritage High School) pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds in just 11 minutes of playing time.
For the Bruins, Kendra Jeffcoat had 13 points and Hannah Tompkins scored 11 points coming off the bench.
Erskine will play Allen University at home this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
