Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (2-2) dethroned the Royals of Johnson University 85 to 55 tonight in the second game of the Red Myers Classic hosted by Erskine College at Belk Arena.
Erskine scored the first two baskets and never trailed in the game. Sophomore Roderick Perkins led all scorers with 27 points while senior Chris Gore pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds in the blowout victory.
Senior sharpshooter Jake Haslam was the only other Fleet player to reach double-figures, contributing 17 points, as all 19 Erskine players appeared in the game.
Johnson University was led by Louis Allen's 26 points while teammate Jordon McClendon added 15 points.
Erskine will play Toccoa Falls tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. in the four and final game of the Red Myers Classic.
In the first game of the Classic, North Greenville University defeated Toccoa Falls 86 to 54. Four Crusaders reached double-figures in the victory, led by Stephen Couvillion's 15 points. Josh Barrett and Jon Sauls led Toccoa Falls with 15 points each.
Tomorrow night North Greenville University will play Johnson University in the third game of the Red Myers Classic at 5 p.m. Erskine will play Toccoa Falls in the fourth and final game at 7:00 p.m.
