Box Score Misenheimer, NC – After winning their last two games, Erskine fell to Pfeiffer University 19-5 today in Conference Carolinas women’s lacrosse action at N.E. Lefko Field. The loss drops the Flying Fleet to 4-9 on the year and 2-3 in conference. Pfeiffer improves to 8-6 overall and 4-1 in conference.
Pfeiffer aggressively attacked the net in the first half launching 19 shots while scoring 15 goals to take a 15-4 lead at halftime. After allowing three goals in the first 5:39 minutes of play,
Kelly Dalziel (Ocean, NJ, Ocean Township High School) scored the Fleet’s first goal on an assist by
Alesia Jerrells (Blythewood, SC, Blythewood High School). For Jerrells, it was her 18
th assist of the season breaking her own single-season assist record she set last year. Jerrells scored the Fleet’s third goal with 10:38 remaining while
Samantha Burns (Hilton Head Island, SC, Hilton Head Island High School) tallied Erskine’s other two goals.
Jerrells scored the Fleet’s lone goal in the second half as Pfeiffer was content to work the clock scoring four goals on ten shots.
Erskine hosts conference-leading Limestone College this Friday at 4:00 p.m.
