Greenwood, SC – Erskine lost to local in-state rival and #11 ranked Lander University 9-0 in non-conference men’s tennis action at Joe Cabri Courts.  The loss drops the Flying Fleet to 2-3 and the Bearcats remain perfect on the season at 6-0.

The Bearcats had little difficulty dispatching the injury-depleted Fleet.  Lander opened the match by sweeping the three doubles matches.  Jack West (Belton, SC, Emerald High School) and Connor Roy (Greenville, SC, Travelers Rest High School)played well at #2 doubles but in the end dropped the match 8-5.

Lander swept the six singles matches in straight sets.  West, who moved up to #2 singles due to an injury, played well but lost to Adam Tonsson 6-3, 6-2.

Erskine plays at home this Saturday against Lees-McRae College.  Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.
