Northern Kentucky 's Corey Sorrell to Transfer to Erskine

DUE WEST- Northern Kentucky sophomore Corey Sorrell has signed a letter of intent to transfer to Erskine next year and play for the Flying Fleet. The 6-5, 210 lbs Walton, Kentucky native played two years for the Norse, starting 21 games as a freshmen and seven this past year, including a 26 minute, 5 point, 4 rebound game against Louisville. A prolific high school scorer, Sorrell was the 9th Region "Player of the Year" at Holy Cross High school and was selected to play in the prestigious Kentucky-Indiana High school game after averaging 27 points a game his senior campaign. Sorrell is a deadly three-point shooter and was considered to be one of Northern Kentucky's hardest working players.

"Getting a player the quality of Corey is pretty special for us, He brings a lot with him in his backpack none more important than experience playing against high level competition. We have some high expectations for Cory but I am confident he will rise up to meet them." remarked Erskine Head Coach Mark Peeler.

Sorrell will join two fellow Kentuckians on the Erskine roster next season. Western Kentucky  transfer Mike Gabbard committed to the Fleet last week and the duo will team with Corey's brother Casey Sorrell, who started every game for the Fleet this past year as a freshman after returning from an early season foot injury.
