Winter Park, FL – The Erskine Lacrosse Team lost to Savannah College of Art and Design 20 to 6 in non-conference women’s lacrosse action at Hungerford Prep Stadium. Erskine drops to 1-9 overall while SCAD climbs to 5-4 on the season.
The game started well for the Fleet as junior
Alesia Jerrells (Columbia, SC, Blythewood) scored the game’s first goal on an assist by freshman
Kelly Dalziel (Ocean, NJ, Ocean Township High School) in just over a minute into the game. With the game tied 2-2, SCAD scored four consecutive goals to take a 6-2 lead with 20 minutes remaining in the opening half. Erskine climbed back to within two on back-to-back goals by Jerrells. SCAD closed out the half on a 4-0 run to take a 10-4 lead at halftime.
Erskine’s Jerrells opened the second half with her fifth goal of the game and assisted on another goal by
Anna Dailey (Clinton, SC, Clinton) two minutes later. At that point, the SCAD defense clamped down holding the Fleet scoreless for the reminder of the game. SCAD won the game 20-6.
Jerrells scored 5 goals and had 1 assist to lead the Fleet.
Erskine travels to Charlotte on Saturday to play conference foe Queens University. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
