Winter Park, FL – Using the break from classes this week, the Erskine Lacrosse team travelled to Winter Park, Florida, to play #10 Rollins College, losing 23-2. With the loss, the Fleet drops to 1-7 overall. Rollins College improves to 7-2 on the season.
Rollins dominated the game from the first whistle winning the opening draw control and scoring within the first minute. Rollins rolled to 15-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Fleet limited their mistakes turning the ball over only 7 times compared to 15 times in the first half. The score also reflected the Fleet's better play as they limited Rollins to eight goals while scoring two. Freshmen Savannah Nunn (Sacremento, CA, Rocklin High School) and Lauren Burdick (Greenville, SC, Riverside High School) scored the two goals for the Fleet. Sarah Ann Showell and Sophie Townsend led Rollins with a game-high 5 goals each. Showell also had two assists.
The Fleet will remain in Flordia the next two days and will play Savannah College of Art and Design on Thursday on the Rollins College campus.
