Lady Fleet End 2010 Campaign

Misenheimer, NC- Erskine lacrosse ended their second season of play Tuesday afternoon with a 19-2 loss to Conference Carolinas foe Pfeiffer University. With the loss, the Flying Fleet close their 2010 campaign with an overall record of 0-17 and 0-7 in conference play.

The strong Pfeiffer squad did not waste any time getting to work as Jessica Kennedy scored two goals within the first two and a half minutes of play. The Falcons kept the pressure on and closed the half with a 12-0 lead.

Despite finding themselves behind, the Fleet did not roll over. Erskine’s Jaclyn Glendinning and Lisa Kmonicek were responsible for putting the Flying Fleet on the board as they each scored late in the second period of play. Although Erskine fought until the final whistle, they could not overcome the huge deficit created by the Falcons.

Pfeiffer had twelve individuals who scored Tuesday afternoon. Kennedy led all scorers with 5 goals.

Erskine goalkeeper Kaitlyn Overley had her work cut out for her as she was bombarded with 29 shots, but managed to pick up a solid 5 saves.

With this win, the Falcons advance to the Conference Carolinas tournament. Erskine will now have some down time to regroup as they  move forward and look ahead to the 2010-2011 season.
