Anderson, SC – Erskine needed to shoot well to have hopes of upsetting conference-leading Anderson University on the road tonight. Unfortunately, Erskine (6-7 overall, 5-4 conference) shot a season-low 26.7% from the field, including just 18% from three point range, in their 71 to 52 loss to archrival Anderson University. Anderson University (9-5 overall, 8-1 conference) made a respectable 36.5% of their shots, including 35% from behind the arc. Erskine even struggled from the free throw line, converting only 59%, despite getting to the line 27 times. Anderson University hit 18 of 20 of their free throws.
The Trojans built an early lead in the first half, leading by as many as twelve. The Fleet made a run to close the gap to just five points at halftime. Unfortunately, the Fleet went cold in the 2nd half and Anderson coasted to a 71 to 52 victory over the Fleet.
