Wilson, NC – The Lady Fleet fell to Barton College Saturday night 95 to 83. Barton raced out to an 18 to 6 lead only to see the Fleet close within two points at 43 to 41. Barton hit the last shot of the half to take a 45 to 41 lead into the locker room. Barton quickly stretched their lead back to double-digits with a 7 to 2 run within the first minute of the second half. The Lady Fleet were able to close within four points midway through the 2nd period before the Lady Bulldogs lengthened their lead back out to double-digits.
Porsha Morgan led all scorers with 24 points and 6 assists. Mary Ann Langford led four other Fleet players who finished in double-digits with 13 points. She also had a team high 6 rebounds.
With the loss, the Lady Fleet drop to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas. The Lady Fleet are idle until Tuesday, December 15th when they travel to play North Greenville University in non-conference action.
