MCCORMICK, S.C. – The Erskine College men's golf team began its 2026 fall season with a fifth place finish at the Savannah Lakes Invitational, hosted by Lander University, earlier this week.

The Fleet were led by Sam Allister, who shot an impressive eight-under overall, earning him a Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Week award. He opened with rounds of three-under 69 and four-under 68 before closing with a round of one-under 71. Allister finished runner-up, two strokes back of the winner with a tournament total of 208.  

SAVANNAH LAKES INVITATIONAL

• The 54-hole event, hosted by the Monticello GC in McCormick, S.C. is a two-day tournament.
• The course played to a par of 72.
• The field consists of 18 teams and a total of 108 participants.

THE FIELD
USC Aiken won the event behind an impressive 34-under scorecard as a team, while Newberry's Daymian Rij won the individual title, shooting 10-under across the three rounds.

Erskine competes in the University of North Georgia Mizuno Intercollegiate, held in Dahlonega, Ga. from September 20-22.
