THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Erskine College football team (2-0) defeated Thomas University (0-2) by a score of 62-3 in a record-breaking afternon for the Fleet at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Erskine scored a program-best 62 points and its 59-point margin of victory is the most since the Fleet brought football back in 2020. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Killmer's five passing touchdowns are also the most in a single game for the Fleet since the program was revived.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Aidan Canzater opened the scoring with an 11-yard rushing touchdown on the Fleet's first possession of the evening. That 7-0 scoreline held up through the remainder of the opening quarter, but the Fleet exploded in the second quarter.
  • Sean Cartwright's 25-yard touchdown grab, his first in an Erskine uniform, doubled the Fleet's lead less than two minutes into the second quarter. After Thomas got on the board with a field goal on its next drive, Jo Burson hauled in a 22-yard score, pushing the Fleet's lead to 21-3.
  • The Fleet closed the first half with all of the momentum, as Reid Giles and Siah Mack each found the endzone 40 seconds apart from each other in the final minutes of the half that gave Erskine a commanding 35-3 lead at the break.
  • Burson and Killmer connected again on the Fleet's first offensive play of the second half, this time for a 66-yard touchdown, making it 42-3. Alessandro Santana, Jr. followed with a pair of field goals to extend the lead to 48-3.
  • After Tyler Koester forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, Killmer found Hunter Cruise on the next play for a 12-yard score, and Ben Black's 31-yard touchdown to Trevor Milliken on Erskine's next drive capped a 62-point outburst for the Fleet's offense in a dominant road win.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine returns to Due West for its 2026 home opener when the Fleet take on Brevard College (1-0) on Saturday at 3 p.m. in a rematch of a highly entertaining game at Brevard a season ago.
