The Fleet have now won six consecutive games, fueled by an offensive explosion in that stretch, totaling 106 runs in their winning streak that dates back to the series finale against Mount Olive.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Continuing their road trip on Tuesday, the Fleet broke through in the first inning again as
Danny Villafane doubled off the wall to score
Mason McManus for the game's first run. Villafane eventually scored on a double steal, and then
Jalyn Tidwell's RBI double capped a three-run frame to begin the day for the Fleet.
Drew Potts added an RBI single in the second, and although Claflin got on the board in the bottom half, Tidwell responded with his first collegiate home run, a two-out solo shot to make it 5-1. The scoring settled down for the next few frames, as starting pitcher
Tanner McNeal, along with relievers
Nick Fraginals and
Brandon Fears kept it a four-run lead until the Fleet added on in the sixth. Potts and McManus each had run-scoring hits as part of another three-run inning, and then Erskine broke it wide open with a crooked number in the seventh.
Stephen Kriner's two-run single started the scoring in the frame, and then Tidwell and
Jacob Platt each delivered two-run doubles and the Fleet brought in eight runs to extend their lead to 16-1.
Tyler Scott and
Kyle Knoll worked scoreless sixth and seventh innings to put the finishing touches on another dominant Erskine win.
THE PLAYER
Freshman
Jalyn Tidwell made his first collegiate start on Tuesday and poured in a 3-for-4 performance at the plate, including a double and his first collegiate home run, driving in four runs to provide production at the bottom of the Fleet's red-hot lineup.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine goes back on the road this weekend to finish this long road trip, and the Fleet take on Shorter University (11-20, 3-18 CC) for a three-game set that begins Friday at 1 p.m.
