GREENVILLE, S.C. – Simona Stepanovic was named the Women's Tennis Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for the week of March 16-23, 2026.
Stepanovic, a freshman from Ontario, Canada, helped Erskine to Conference Carolinas wins over Belmont Abbey and Lees-McRae last week, going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles. Playing at No. 3 doubles, she defeated Rebekka Collyer and Lellany Sanchez of Belmont Abbey 6-2 before topping Collyer 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles. In the dual against Lees-McRae, Stepanovic defeated Lily Smith and Kylie Childers 6-0 at No. 3 doubles before defeating Smith 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Stepanovic becomes the second member of the Fleet to take home the weekly award this season, joining
Vale Guerrero who won it on the opening week of the spring season.
Erskine hosts Chowan and Barton this weekend, taking on the Hawks on Friday at 2 p.m. and then the Bulldogs on Saturday at 1 p.m.
