NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Erskine College men's volleyball team (3-3) defeated Newberry College (1-5) in straight sets at Eleazer Arena on Thursday evening, as the Fleet showed no signs of rust following a 13-day layoff between matches due to inclement weather in the South Carolina area the past two weeks.

THE PLAYER
The Fleet had a number of individual standouts who hit the ball extremely well on Thursday, but arguably none more so than
Colin Fahey, who led Erskine with a match-high 11 kills on just 18 swings. The junior middle blocker also filled the stat sheet, adding in two assists, two digs, and a pair of solo blocks.
THE TEAM
Erskine hit a resounding .417 (53 K / 13 E / 96 TA) for the match, while holding Newberry to just a .176 hitting percentage as a team. The Fleet saved their best for last, posting a .548 hitting percentage in the final set, tallying 22 kills in the third set alone.
WHAT'S NEXT?Â
Erskine sets its sights on Conference Carolinas play, in which the Fleet get thrown right into the deep end with a trip to the reigning champions, Belmont Abbey College (2-0), on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
