HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: USC Aiken 4-2 Erskine
At home for the first time in 2026, the Fleet surrendered a pair of first-inning runs, but responded quickly, thanks to a
Summer Nelsen solo home run in the ensuing frame. That 2-1 scoreline remained all the way until the fifth inning, when the visitors added two more runs.
Kennedy Crouch's RBI single in the sixth got the Fleet back within two, but Erskine was unable to start a rally in its final at-bats.
Game 2: USC Aiken 4-2 Erskine
The second game of the doubleheader saw USC Aiken take a first-inning lead again. After being held in check through the first three innings, the Erskine offense got on the board in the fourth on an
Ellie Rapson RBI double that cut the deficit in half. The Pacers regained their two-run advantage in the top of the fifth, but
Ava Rogers came off the bench to pinch run in the bottom half and worked her way around the bases, scoring on a wild pitch to make it 3-2. However, the Fleet could not draw level in their last at-bats.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine makes the trip to Beaufort for a weekend invitational, where the Fleet will see the hosts, USC Beaufort (3-1), and Carson-Newman University (4-0), twice each over the course of the weekend.
