HOW IT HAPPENED
Hoping to continue on their growing level of play in recent games, the Fleet dominated the first half against Emmanuel, outshooting the Lions 12 to 1. However, Emmanuel's lone shot of the opening period resulted in a goal in the 12th minute to open the scoring. But, Erskine controlled the play throughout the first half and were rewarded with an equalizer in the 34th minute on an excellent left-footed finish from
Evelyn Melnick. The Fleet applied more pressure right out of the gates in the second half and a driving run down the left wing and a near-post finish from
Soleil St. Hill just 18 seconds into the half gave Erskine its first lead of the day, 2-1. Erskine defended its late well for over the next half-hour but a late goal from the Lions meant the Fleet were forced to share the points.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine wraps up the home stand with a weekend contest against Shorter University (1-8-1, 1-6-1 CC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
