HOW IT HAPPENED
The Fleet controlled the match from start to finish, and their pressure from the onset was rewarded in the 19th minute, as a freshman
Ava McClure scored her first collegiate goal to give Erskine the lead. Just before the end of the first half, goalkeeper
Braeden Johnson assisted
Jordan Schuhlein, doubling the Fleet's advantage at the break. Erskine recorded all 12 of the shots in the second half, continuing to hold firm control, and
Sarah Barrientos' goal in the 69th minute sealed a 3-0 victory for the Fleet.
FROM COACH HUTTO
"After a long lightning delay, our players were able to put in a full team effort to come out with the win. We were able to score three great goals in the run of play, increasing our confidence in the attacking third as we move into the remainder of the conference season."
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine returns to league play, hosting Southern Wesleyan University (1-4-1, 1-2-1 CC) on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
