HOW IT HAPPENED
Erskine's early pressure against a high-level opponent on the road was rewarded as
Alyssa Aleman set up
Natalia Concha for the game's first goal and Concha's first of her Erskine career in the 16th minute. The Fleet defended valiantly well into the match, with
Valentina Santana making five first-half saves to help keep Erskine in front at the break. However, Emmanuel founded an equalizer in the 66th minute and a second goal seven minutes later.
FROM COACH HUTTO
"We were able to get ahead early and were able to keep an aggressive Emmanuel offense at bay for the majority of the game. I am proud of the team defensive effort and this was an important learning experience for our team moving forward."
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine steps out conference play this weekend, visiting Warren Wilson College (2-4-1) on Saturday at 3 p.m. in what will be the first-ever meeting between the teams.
