HOW IT HAPPENED
Back at home briefly for a mid-week contest and a rematch from a game seven days ago, it was the visiting Saints who opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the second inning and then added another in the third, putting the Fleet in an early 3-0 deficit. In the fourth inning,
Quinn Allen hit a one-out single and a few pitches later,
JT Yaccarino uncorked his third home run of the season, a two-run blast to get the Fleet back within a run. However, Limestone hit a two-run home run of its own in the next half-inning to put Erskine's deficit back to three runs, and then the Saints posted a seven-run sixth inning to put the game beyond reach for the Fleet.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine goes back on the road this weekend, taking on Barton College (23-12, 14-7 CC) in a three-game series, starting Friday at 2 p.m.
