DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (10-13, 6-9 CC) defeated North Greenville University (9-15, 5-10 CC) by a score of 67-64 at Hayes Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Erskine took control of the game in the first half, leading by 13 at the break and by as many as 16 at one point in the second half, but had to withstand a late NGU run to survive away from home in a game that tremendously boosts the Fleet's chances of making the conference tournament.

Ja'Hiem Handy ran the show for the Fleet offense, scoring 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting from the field and 3-for-5 from the free throw line, while also dishing out 7 assists to just one turnover, and adding in three steals on the defensive end.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 41% (21-51) from the field and 35% (8-23) from the three-point line, as well as an impressive 90% (17-19) from the free throw line. The Fleet scored 17 fast break points and got 21 points from its bench.

A tall test awaits the Fleet, who travel to division-leading Emmanuel University (15-8, 13-2 CC) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
