DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (9-13, 5-9 CC) defeated Shorter University (4-15, 2-11 CC) by a score of 76-75 at Belk Arena on Thursday evening.

Christian Monroe dribbled the length of the court and got fouled with just 0.2 seconds left, calmly making both free throws to give the Fleet a massive home win.

THE PLAYER
Thursday wasn't the best night overall for sophomore guard
Christian Monroe, but when the Fleet needed him in the clutch, he delivered. Monroe finished with 10 points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field and most importantly 2-for-2 from the free throw line in the final second that was the difference in a one-point win.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 46% (26-57) from the field and 44% (13-32) from the three-point line, as well as 71% (10-14) from the free throw line. The Fleet had a decided advantage in points in transition, 19 to 7, and got 33 points from its bench.
WHAT'S NEXT?Â
Erskine continues a huge week for its conference tournament hopes with a trip to North Greenville University (9-13, 5-9 CC) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
