DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's volleyball team (7-15, 5-9 CC) defeated Shorter University (14-7, 11-2 CC) in straight sets at Belk Arena on Wednesday evening.
The Fleet used a late rally in Set 1 and held off a late Hawks rally in Set 3 to sweep the conference's Southwest Division leaders behind a double-double from
Becca Yohe (10 kills, 10 digs), 32 assists from
Meghan DeWalt, and career-high 4 aces from
Rylee Bath that helped the Fleet have a decided advantage in the serving department.

THE PLAYER
The Fleet got valuable contributions from up and down the roster on Wednesday, but arguably none more so than from sophomore
Ella Dietrich. The middle blocker stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with a joint team-high 10 kills on an efficient .346 hitting percentage, while also adding three blocks, four digs, and a pair of aces in the straight-set win.
THE TEAM
Erskine hit just .168 (37 K / 16 E / 125 A) for the match, but held Shorter to a .161 hitting percentage. The Fleet had a 10 to 3 advantage in aces and doubled up the Hawks in blocks, 4 to 2.

The Fleet step out of conference play briefly, visiting Guilford College (13-8, 5-5 ODAC), on Friday at 6 p.m.
