HOW IT HAPPENED
Starting a stretch of five home games in its final six regular season matches, Erskine was very dangerous in the opening quarter-hour against Emmanuel. The Fleet created three shooting opportunities in the first six minutes of the match, including
Rebekah Wiles clipping the crossbar on a lofted shot. However, the visitors were the ones who opened the scoring, finding a goal in the 17th minute. A 34th-minute strike from the Lions doubled their lead and Emmanuel added two more goals on the other side of the halftime interval. The Fleet totaled 10 shots in the match but managed just one attempt on target.
FROM COACH HUTTO
"We created dangerous chances early in the game but were unable to finish them, leading to conceding goals against the run of play. We played well in possession and continued to create chances but were unable to convert them compared to our opponent."
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine is back in action on its home field, taking on North Greenville University (4-6-2, 4-3-2 CC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
