FLORENCE, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (6-11, 3-7 CC) was defeated by Francis Marion University (6-10, 4-4 CC) by a score of 79-73 at the Smith University Center on Saturday.
Erskine started the game on the wrong end of a 14-0 run and were forced to play from behind throughout the afternoon. The Fleet battled back and got within two points on a few occasions, but were unable to get over the hump as their three-game winning streak came to an end.

Erskine shot 44% (27-62) from the field and 32% (12-37) from the three-point line, but just 50% (7-14) from the free throw line. The Fleet did hold a decided 27 to 10 advantage in points in transition, but were outrebounded by FMU, 48 to 23.

Erskine will look to start a new winning streak when the Fleet visit Shorter University (3-10, 1-6 CC) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
