Erskine Cheerleading & Dance | Rogers named next Head Coach of both programs

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College Cheerleading program named Carly Rogers as its next head coach, Director of Athletics Mark Peeler announced on Thursday. Rogers has led the Fleet Dance program since November 2022 and will continue to be its head coach that program in addition to taking over the cheer program as well.

"Carly has excelled as an athletic recruiting coordinator as well as our Dance Team coach the past few yew years. I am thrilled she has chosen to add Cheerleading to her plate," Peeler said. "While I know the addition of this responsibility will be a huge task for Carly, I am quite confident she will continue to excel and be able to take our Cheer and Dance programs to the next level. Her enthusiasm and passion along with a proven work ethic make a for a great recipe for future success."

Rogers graduated from Newberry College in 2019 with a B.A. in Psychology and was a part of the Newberry College Scarlet Poms Dance Team for three years and the Newberry College Cheerleading team for one year. Prior to taking charge of the Dance program at Erskine in 2022, Rogers spent a year as an assistant for both programs.

"I am so excited to be able to work with the Erskine Cheerleading team this season. They are a great group of athletes who have the drive and commitment that this program needs," Rogers said. "Being given the opportunity to lead this group of athletes and help mold them into not only great athletes but even greater people is a dream come true."

The 2024-25 season is just a few weeks away as Rogers continues preparations for the upcoming year.
