HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Tusculum 12-4 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
Erskine got on the board with a
Hailey Patterson RBI double in the fourth, and
Brooke Patterson added a three-run home run in the fifth, but Tusculum scored in each of its first three innings at the plate as the Fleet were defeated in first game of the day.
Game 2: USC Beaufort 12-3 (Final / 5 innings)
Peyton Rabon hit her first home run of the season in the second inning, and
Kenzie Eagleman scored on an error in the ensuing frame, but Erskine was plagued by another slow start in the nightcap, losing its finale of the weekend to the hosts via the run rule.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine has the week off before taking part in another early-season tournament next weekend with a pair of games in the Brianna Surrento Invitational, hosted by Lander (1-1), on Saturday. The Fleet take on Newberry College (2-0) at 12 p.m. and then battle the hosts at 4 p.m.
