HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Newberry 11-2 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
Newberry hit a pair of home runs in the early stages to take a 4-0 lead, but the Fleet got on the board in the third inning after
Hailey Patterson worked a leadoff walk before
Amber Clark reached on an infield single, setting the stage for
Kyndall Chandler's RBI.
Peyton Rabon launched her second big fly of the young season in the next frame, but the Wolves closed strong in the final innings.
Game 2: Lander 8-0 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
Taking on the hosts in the nightcap, the Bearcats took advantage of some Fleet miscues as they scored in four of their five trips to the plate.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine remains on the road next week, starting with its first traditional doubleheader of the year against Georgia College (3-2) on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
