WILSON, N.C. – The Erskine College men's volleyball team (8-5, 4-2 CC) defeated Barton College (7-5, 2-4 CC) in five sets at the Wilson Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

After the Fleet rolled past Barton in each of the first two sets with 25-20 victories, the Bulldogs responded by winning the next two sets, but the Fleet survived in a five-setter to earn a valuable road win in Conference Carolinas play.

THE PLAYER
Short-handed for the second consecutive night, the Fleet bounced back thanks to a season-high 23 kills from Kacper Rybarczyk. The reigning Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year also added 12 digs, two blocks, and an ace as he helped carry the weight in a five-set road victory for the Fleet.

THE TEAM
Erskine hit .238 (72 K / 32 E / 168 TA) for the match, while holding Barton to just a .179 hitting percentage. The Fleet totaled 23 more kills by the Bulldogs and also held a narrow 3 to 2 advantage in aces.

WHAT'S NEXT? 
Erskine goes back on the road for another conference contest against Emmanuel University (5-10, 2-4 CC) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Fleet will be hoping for a season-sweep of the Lions, after downing Emmanuel in four sets in Due West earlier this month.
