DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (1-3) defeated Warren Wilson College (0-3) by a score of 103-70 at the Devries Athletic Gymnasium on Thursday for the Fleet's first win of the season.

Erskine scored a season-high 103 points and had four double-digit scorers, as well as 16 different players in the scoring column as they cruised to a road victory.

THE PLAYER
Junior guard Ja'Hiem Handy was the joint-leading scorer for the Fleet, totaling 15 points in just 21 minutes on an extremely efficient 4-5 shooting from the field. The Anderson native made both of his three-point attempts, all five of his free throw attempts, and added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals to his stat line.

THE TEAM
Erskine shot 44% (36-82) from the field and 29% (15-51) from the three-point line, as well as 80% (16-20) from the free throw line. The Fleet totaled 18 steals as part of 38 forced turnovers, which allowed them to have a significant 38 to 10 advantage in points off turnovers. The Fleet also doubled up the Owls in points in the paint, 40 to 20, and outscored WWC in transition, 23 to 3.

Erskine is off this weekend before resuming its road trip at Mars Hill University on Monday at 6 p.m. Christian Monroe hit a game-winning layup in the final seconds to lift the Fleet over the Lions when these teams met in Due West last year
