Erskine Men's Basketball | Prioleau records double-double in home bout with Chowan

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (2-9, 0-5 CC) was defeated by Chowan University (9-5, 3-2 CC) by a score of 71-67 at Belk Arena on Saturday.

The Fleet trailed by five at the break but three-pointers from Jaylen Prioleau and Christian Monroe on consecutive possessions tied the game early in the second half and set the stage for a competitive, back-and-forth final 16 minutes. After a Corey Gaines bucket at the 4:23 mark tied the game at 61, Chowan responded with a quick 6-0 burst to regain its lead. But, a Prioleau jumper followed by a stop and then a Moses Cheek triple cut the deficit to one, 67-66 with 1:37 remaining. However, a turnover on the next Fleet possession, and then a missed free throw moments later ended Erskine's valiant effort as they dropped another heartbreaker on their home floor.
