FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (3-11, 0-7 CC) was defeated by Emmanuel University (15-4, 7-1 CC) by a score of 75-65 at the Shaw Athletic Center on Tuesday night.
Despite containing one of the premier scorers in all of Division II in Emmanuel's Kelvin Jones, the Fleet trailed by 15 at the break. Erskine crawled its way back into the game, and eventually got within eight, 67-59, at the 4:05 mark, following a 9-0 Fleet run. However, the comeback effort came up just short against the Southwest-leading Lions.

Earning his first start in a Flying Fleet uniform, sophomore forward
Darin Parker took full advantage, leading the Fleet with 14 points, 5 rebounds (4 offensive), 3 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal. Parker not only filled up the stat sheet, but scored in an efficient manner, going 6-for-10 from the field and making 2 of his 4 three-point attempts.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 47% (25-53) from the field, and 48% (12-25) from the three-point line, but were just 38% (3-8) from the free throw line. The Fleet were plus-16 in bench points, but the difference came in transition, where Emmanuel turned 12 Fleet turnovers into 18 points.

Erskine remains on the road this weekend to take on Belmont Abbey College (5-11, 4-3 CC) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
