HOW IT HAPPENED
The Fleet started fast, scoring in each of their first two trips to the plate, thanks to a sacrifice fly from
Christian Rivera in the first inning and a towering solo home run that just snuck inside the left field foul pole in the second inning as Erskine jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. But, the afternoon belonged to the top-ranked Crusaders as they scored the next 13 runs of the game. Erskine got run-scoring doubles from
Juan Jaime and
Armando Becerra in the sixth inning, as well as a
David Hernandez RBI groundout in the seventh, but were defeated by the number 1 team in Division II, by a score of 19-6.
THE PLAYER
Tariq Bacon scored a pair of runs for the Fleet, including a solo home run in the second inning.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine and North Greenville wrap up their weekend tilt with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
