HOW IT HAPPENED
Concord manufactured a run in the first inning and took an early 1-0 lead, but the Fleet responded with a couple of massive swings. In the second inning, freshman
Summer Nelsen gave Erskine the lead with her first collegiate home run that flipped the game on its head and gave the Fleet a 2-1. Starting pitcher,
Kaley Ingle, settled in and preserved that lead through her next two innings of work. Following a
Brooke Patterson single to lead off the fourth inning,
Kenzie Eagleman roped a two-run home run over the right field fence to give Erskine some cushion, 4-1. Concord scored twice in the top of the fifth, but a
Maddie Ingram RBI single in the bottom half made it a 5-3 game. A Mountain Lions solo home run got the visitors back within a run, but Ingle got the final four outs of the game and finishing off a 5-4 win.
THE PLAYER
Kenzie Eagleman went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs at the plate, including an opposite field home run in the fourth inning.
