TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (1-4, 0-1 CC) was defeated by North Greenville University (4-2, 1-0 CC) by a score of 85-75 at Hayes Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Despite the loss, freshman
Christian Monroe continued his impressive start to his college career, posting his first double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Monroe was an efficient 8-for-16 from the field and added three assists as well as a pair of steals.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 44% (29-66) from the field and 35% (9-26) from the three-point line. The Fleet were 89% (8-9) from the free throw line and totaled 57 points from their bench.

A tall test awaits the Fleet as they renew their rivalry with Lander University (5-1) on the road on Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Bearcats are coming off a 22-win season where they earned a 6-seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional last year.
