THE SERIES
Emmanuel leads the all-time series, 6-2 and has won the past five meetings.
THE MATCH
Emmanuel controlled possession and chances in the first half and found the back of the net on the 19th-minute goal from Zoe Logue to open the scoring. Less than four minutes later, Carina Widauer doubled the visitors' lead, giving them a 2-0 advantage at the break. The early stages of the second half were much more balanced, and the Fleet had a golden opportunity to get back into the match in the 58th-minute but
Maria Dos Anjos and
Amber Elgin couldn't finish a nice attacking play from the Fleet. In the 73th-minute, the Lions sealed the win with a goal from Olivia Weider before Katrina Wolfe added a fourth for Emmanuel, giving them a 4-0 win in both teams' conference opener.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot 28 to 3 and USC Aiken had a 16 to 0 advantage in shots on target.
