BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (0-3) lost a road match against the University of South Carolina Beaufort (3-0) by a score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Fin Land Field.

USC Beaufort has beaten the Fleet each of the past two seasons.
THE MATCH
After a scoreless half an hour to begin the match, the Sandsharks found an opener in the 30th minute from Synne Bye-Andersen as they took a 1-0 lead into the half, despite the Fleet and Sandsharks each tallying four shots in the opening period. USC Beaufort dominated control of the match in the second half, outshooting Erskine 13 to 0, and a 53rd minute-goal from Lexi Kaeser sealed a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot 17 to 4 and USC Beaufort had a narrow 3 to 2Â advantage in shots on target.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet began Conference Carolinas play at home on Wednesday afternoon when they take on Emmanuel College (1-2) at 2:00 p.m. The Lions have won the previous four meetings between the teams, including a 2-1 win in Franklin Springs last season.
