THE SERIES
Erskine still leads the all-time series, 6-2.
THE MATCH
Following a 2-0 loss to USC Aiken on Saturday, the Fleet looked to bounce back with a win against the Coker Cobras, out of the South Atlantic Conference. But, it was the visitors who started strong, as they were on the front foot right from kickoff. And their pressure was rewarded with a 6th-minute goal off a corner kick that put Coker ahead 1-0. Erskine grew into the game and immediately following the opening goal but were unable to threaten the Cobras goal. With just over 8 minutes remaining in the first half, the match was stopped due to lightning in the area, and caused nearly an hour-long delay. The teams played through the closing stages of the first half with Coker maintaining its slim lead. But, just moments into the second half, the Cobras gave themselves some breathing room with a second goal. In the 84th minute, Coker added a third to seal the victory as the Fleet attack struggled to create chances, suffering a 3-0 loss.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot 18 to 5 and USC Aiken had a 11 to 1 advantage in shots on target.
