HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: Erskine 4-2 Emmanuel
Emmanuel took an early lead in the first game of the day on an RBI double in the very first inning. But, after a quiet opening frame, the Erskine bats came to life as Kyndall Chandler opened the second inning with an infield single before Kenzie Eagleman launched a two-out, two-run home run to straightaway left field and gave the Fleet a 2-1 lead. The Lions answered with a solo home run in the top of the third to tie the game, but it didn't take long before Erskine regained its lead. A walk and a pair of singles loaded the bases in the bottom half of the third for Maddie Ingram, who continued Erskine's great work with two outs as she delivered a two-run single to put the Fleet back in front, 4-2. Ingle worked around a two-out single in the fourth inning before stranding the bases loaded in the fifth to keep the Fleet in the lead. That began a stretch of seven consecutive batters retired by the Erskine right-hander before an infield single kept the Lions alive and brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh. But, Ingle induced a soft lineout as she went the distance and gave Erskine a 4-2 win.

GAME 2: Emmanuel 11-3 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
Coming off a complete game performance in the first game of the doubleheader, Erskine pitching built on its momentum early as Game 2 starter, Payton Cox started her outing with a pair of zeroes while Payton Rabon gave the Fleet an early lead thanks to an RBI groundout. But, the Emmanuel offense came to life in the middle innings as they struck for three runs in the third before adding eight more in the fourth to take a convincing 11-1 lead. Kenzie Eagleman launched an opposite field, two-run home run in the fifth inning but it was not enough as the Lions won Game 2 by a score of 11-3.

THE PLAYER
Kenzie Eagleman homered in both games of the doubleheader, her first two big flies of the season, along with adding 4 RBIs on the day as well.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine has the rest of the weekend off before traveling to Southern Wesleyan University (2-22, 1-10 CC) on Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader, starting at 2:00 p.m. The Fleet won two games against the Warriors by a score of 6-5 on the final day of the regular season last year to seal a Conference Carolinas title.
