HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: King 7-1 Erskine
A pair of solo home runs in the second inning gave the Tornado a 2-0 lead.
Brooke Patterson cut the Fleet deficit in half in the next inning thanks to an RBI single to score
Kelci Brown, but King scored the final five runs of the game to win the opening game, 7-1.
GAME 2: King 14-2 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
The second-place team in the Conference Carolinas looked the part again in Game 2 of the doubleheader as they put up nine runs in the first at-bat and never looked back. The Fleet tallied runs on a
Peyton Rabon RBI groundout and a solo home run for
Faith Belue, her fifth big fly of the season, tying her with
Brooke Patterson and
Kaley Ingle for most on the Erskine team. But, the King offense continued to roll as they won Game 2, 14-2.
THE PLAYER
Faith Belue reached base in both of her plate appearances in Game 2, including a solo home run in the third inning.
