BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Erskine College softball team (12-25, 8-13 CC) lost both games of a doubleheader against Lees-McRae College (20-24, 13-11 CC) at the Lees-McRae Softball Field on Saturday afternoon. Lees-McRae won Game 1 by a score of 5-1 and took Game 2, 7-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: Lees-McRae 5-1 Erskine
Starter
Kaley Ingle allowed just three hits over the first three innings of her afternoon as she stifled the Bobcats offense and kept the game scoreless. But, Lees-McRae broke through in the fourth inning and took a 3-0 lead. The Bobcats added a two-run single for insurance in the fifth inning and made it a 5-0 game. Erskine got on the board in the seventh thanks to a solo home run from
Faith Belue, her second big fly in as many days and team-leading sixth of the year, but the Fleet fell in Game 1, 5-1.
GAME 2: Lees-McRae 7-1 ErskineÂ
The Bobcats continued to held the Erskine offense in check through the early stages of Game 2 as they led 4-0 after three innings.
Maddie Ingram got a run back for Erskine on her RBI single in the fourth inning, but LMC scored the final three runs of the game as they won Game 2, 7-1.
THE PLAYER
Faith Belue had a multi-hit game in the first game of the doubleheader, with a leadoff single in the third inning and a solo home run in the seventh.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine finishes the regular season with a home doubleheader against Francis Marion University (28-17, 14-8 CC) on Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Due to other results around the conference, Erskine will be the No. 10 seed in the 2022 Conference Carolinas Tournament, starting Thursday April 28.
