GREENVILLE, S.C. – Kyle Marti of Erskine has been selected as the inaugural Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for baseball for February. 
 
A shortstop from Cutler Bay, Florida, Marti started 15 of 16 games in the month and hit .306 with three extra base hits, nine RBIs, 12 runs scored, seven walks and four stolen bases. His best game of the month came on Feb. 19 in a 7-4 home league win over North Greenville as he went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. He also added a fourth inning sacrifice fly in an eventual 6-2 win over No. 1 Wingate on Feb. 22. In all he had four multi-hit games and scored or drove in a run in 11 of the 16 games.
