MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (0-10-1, 0-6-1 CC) was defeated by Chowan University (3-6-1, 3-2-1 CC) by a score of 7-0 on Monday afternoon at the Chowan Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.

THE MATCH
Chowan took an early lead in the 8th-minute in a match that was moved from the weekend to Monday afternoon due to Hurricane Ian. The Hawks never looked back, scoring four times in seven minutes halfway through the opening period. The Hawks added another right before the break, before scoring their seventh and final goal early in the second half as Erskine managed just two shots in the match.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine has a quick turnaround as they take on conference-leading North Greenville University (8-2-1, 7-0-0 CC) on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at Huggins Field. NGU has beaten the Fleet each of the past two meetings, but Erskine earned a 1-1 draw in the teams' last matchup in Due West back in March 2021.
