TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (1-5-2, 1-4-2 CC) fell to top-seeded North Greenville University (6-1-1, 5-1-1 CC) 2-0 in the opening match of the 2021 Conference Carolinas Tournament behind a couple second-half goals from the Crusaders at Pepsi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams have now won six matches in 13 all-time meetings between the teams.
THE MATCH
Despite being outshot 13 to four in the first half, the Fleet and Crusaders went to the halftime break thanks to four saves from Erskine goalkeeper
Cheyenne Fuller. But, North Greenville continued to dominate the match in the second half and eventually found a breakthrough with a 60th minute goal. The hosts then added a second goal ten minutes later, and the Fleet failed to tally a shot in the half, falling to top-seeded North Greenville 2-0 in their conference tournament opener.
THE TEAM
North Greenville outshot Erskine 23 to three and had nine shots on goal to the Fleet's two. The Crusaders also had five corner kicks and the Fleet managed just one in the loss.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The 9th seeded Fleet now travel to 8-seed King University (1-4-2, 1-4-2 CC) on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. to conclude Pool Play in the 2021 Conference Carolinas Tournament. Erskine must win to maintain a chance to advance to the semifinals.
The Fleet and Tornado played to a scoreless draw earlier this year in Bristol, back in the Fleet's second match of the season.
